Radon Testing for Educational Facilities

The state of Illinois recommends in (105 ILCS 5/10-20.48) that every occupied building of a school district be tested every 5 years to ensure health and safety from radon gas.  Contact Reliable Radon today to let us help guide your school district successfully through the radon testing process.

The Illinois IEMA School Screening Radon Program has special exemptions available to school district employees who opt to attend approved online radon education programs.  These online training programs then allow these educated school district employees to perform radon gas testing without having to be professionally certified.  This program special exemption can result in huge cost savings to school districts on initial radon measurements.

We highly encourage school districts to have a Radon Liaison that has attended an IEMA radon training program and can perform initial radon gas measurements.  In the event a school district building should test at or above 4.0 pCi/l, then Reliable Radon Inspections can come to perform an in-depth study of the radon gas concentrations and provide guidance if radon mitigation should be recommended.

We find that the more educated educators are in the subject matter of radon, the easier the entire process becomes.

Please contact us today for guidance and education, educating in radon is our passion!
